Side effect: Agitation is one of the possible side effects of abilify (aripiprazole). Tell your prescribing physician what you are experiencing immediately. This drug is not allowing you to be the best person you can be!

Unsure: It is difficult to know without an understanding of why you are taking abilify (aripiprazole). Some people can become agitated with the medication. It is also possible that the dose could be either too high or too low, or this may not be the ideal medication for you. I certainly agree with dr. Goldstein that you should inform your prescribing physician.

See below: Agree with my colleagues -- contact your prescribing provider about the med. However, you used the words "still angry", which might be that anger is not something new for you. Try anger management -- look at situations that trigger your anger, what helps to relieve it; where it felt in your body. Practice stress management, good nutrition -- all these things will also help with anger management.

Mood stabilization: Mood stabilization is complicated, and not all people respond to simple strategies. Anger is one of the most common symptoms, and is difficult to treat. Maybe you would benefit of another mood stabilizer instead of abilify, (aripiprazole) or maybe they need to be in combination, or for longer time. Ask your doctor to try lamictal, tegretol, trileptal, or lithium at lower doses. Psychotherapy will help a lot.

Right Diagnosis?: Perhaps the dosage needs increased or something added to it. However the most important is the correct diagnosis and medication alone is never as effective as psychotherapy and medication. We are more that just neurotransmitters and receptors. How to deal with the angry triggers in life may even make it possible to reduce or even eliminate the need for medication.

Abilify (aripiprazole): Depends on what Abilify (aripiprazole) was prescribed for. Talk to your doctor who knows you best. Maximum recommended dose is 30mg. per day.
