Stretch: There are many causes of low back pain. Spondylosis is basically "wear and tear" or arthritic changes to the spine. Usually acute back pain will improve over 1-2 weeks with anti-inflammatories, gentle streching, and use of heat/ice. Somethimes physical therapy can help transition you back to exercise if you're still having pain with walking.

Yes!: Exercise is key in not only preventing but also treating back pain. In addition to walking, it is also recommended by most sports societies to include resistance training to your routine. Spondylosis is basically arthritis. The best treatment overall is exercise.
