NOT LIKELY: If your renal function is adequate, it would be difficult to consume so much nacl in food that you would become hypernatremic (high sodium.) i suggest you try to moderate your diet in all regards, and try for a relatively healthy, balanced diet, while still having some fun. Good luck.

Overdose: Sodium can cause fluid retention and hypertension, but true overdose is unlikely since our kidneys can regulate elimination of sodium. If you have heart failure, renal failure or endocrine conditions, too much sodium can be very dangerous. It is recommended that no more than 4 grams of sodium be ingested daily for most people and less for the conditions listed above.
