Hi i have a question i had a mri done and they found a cyst in my pituitary i was wondering how they treat it it is 5mm x 2 in size , ?

Depends: If it doesn't affect you (your hormone levels etc) then you don't need to do anything. If treatment is needed, you will be referred to a neurosurgeon.

No therapy necessary: Md will check hormone levels and if normal, follow with repeat mri, usually in 1 year.

Follow with mri: You need to check to make sure this "cyst" is not producing extra hormones. If it's non functioning, which it most likely will be, you will need to follow it serially with MRI and monitor for changes. Autopsy studies have shown that up to 10% of the population could have something in their pituitary and don't know it.
