A member asked:

Hi i've recently been diagnosed with "debri in the gall bladder" what exactly is this? what may cause it? and what is most like to be done about it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Symptomatic? Remove: Debris in the gallbladder or gallbladder sludge refers to the appearance of very small particulates in the bile within the gallbladder. Several factors can contribute to the development. When bile is excreted after meals, the thick sludge can cause mild obstruction that leads to pain or rarely pancreatitis. If asymptomatic, it can be observed, otherwise consider having the gallbladder removed.
