Not necessarily...: The human body gets all sorts of lumps and bumps. It could've been a lipoma or sebaceous cyst or just a weird formation of bone - all harmless. But you did the right thing by getting it checked out. Watch it over the next 2-4 weeks, if it's getting bigger, more painful, skin is changing over it, you should definitely see your doctor again to have it reassessed. Good luck!

Lump: Lumps can be due to various reasons . If your doctor has reassured you then chances are that it shouldn’t be anything sinister . You can keep an eye on it . If lump increases in size, becomes painful , or there are lumps elsewhere , weight loss etc then please consult the doctor again . If still concerned you can get Fine needle aspiration of lump .
