is it safe for someone to wear tampons on their first period?

If it's comfortable: Yes, a young woman may use tampons during her first period as long as she is able to insert them and remove them with comfort. (never force them!) there are tampons designed for young women in mind, even young athletes. The american girl has a great book for girls called "the care and keeping of you." and companies that make sanitary products have websites appealing to young clients.

While getting used: To their period, many girls feel more comfortable using a sanitary pad. However, it is not unhealthy to use a tampon for a first period.
