A few days: Most of my patients take a few days off after surgery but it may take a few weeks before you have the endurance for long distances and stairclimbing.

Knee arthroscopy: Expect to be off school for about a week. This assumes you can get a ride to school after a week especially if it is your right knee (driving leg) that is operated on. A more involved surgery such as an acl reconstruction may take up to 10-14 days until you can return to school.
