No: People with lung cancer may have no cough, a cough that never really stops, or is intermittent. The sensations from those cough also varies and isn't predictive. 37 year olds with chronic cough usually have another cause that can be identified and tracked down.

Yes: You can get the same kind of irritating sensation. They may not be related.

Is it normal to have lung irritation after swimming? Why do my lungs feel irritated after i go swimming? Inhaling deeply after i swim causes me cough. It goes away after a day or so. This happens if i swim in a pool or at the lake.
