A member asked:

If i've been taking biotin supplements 5000 for about 3-4 months , can i just stop taking them whenever i want? or do i have to slowly stop?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fast or slow is OK: There should be no adaptive effect to taking that dose of biotin; therefore, stopping it abruptly shouldn't have adverse consequences. Pragmatically, i suggest taking half the dose for 3-5 days then stopping. It makes sense to allow our bodies to adapt to more gentle than abrupt change.
