2 Questions...: Lots to cover here. A bad bridge may have sensitivity due to open margins, tenderness when biting due to the bite being too high, gum irritation due to the bridge impinging on the tissue. If you can be more specific in your question, it would help. Biggest symptom of tmd is pain in the TMJ region. Other things like severe wear on the teeth may be an indication as well.

Pain and discomfort: The fit of the bridge should be ideal at its marginal integrity, (as to avoid cement leakage and recurrent decay), alignment with the dental arch, and occlusion ( correct bite in simple closure and chewing movements). And if it is porcelain the color needs to match the adjacent teeth. Tmj symptoms include, headache, joint pain or tenderness, limited opening. Joint sounds may or may not be a sign.

Different approach: I would venture to guess that you are having some dental problems in your own mouth. Rather than merely getting a list of problems with these two issues, it would be more productive to ask your own dentist to examine you and respond. If you question the quality of care with your present dentist, get a 2nd opinion with another highly recommended dentist in your area. Even a 3rd if necessary.
