how can you tell the difference between eczema and scabies ?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Scott Dyer
19 years experience Allergy and Immunology
By where the rash is: Most eczema occurs on the face, inner elbows, behind the knees, on the wrists, hands, and ankles. It is usually dry, red, itchy. Scabies tends to occur on the waist, arm pits, writsts, genital area, lower buttocks, front of the knees, sides of the feet, and on the sides and in between the fingers. It is always more itchy at night. Check for some photos of the rashes on medical websites.
