Scabies.: A dermatologist is typically adept at diagnosing skin issues on site. As such, given a certain clinical scenario along with the physical exam findings, the dermatologist is able to initiate treatment without sampling a lesion. That being said, if this was not a dermatologist who made the diagnosis, then it might be wise to seek a second consultation with a dermatologist.
