Dressing for a wound: Until you can be seen by a clinician, you should keep the wound clean by flushing it with a lot of clean water. You should not let is get dry so if the drainage is scant put a topical layer of antibiotic ointment. Then you should cover it with a clean bandage.

Honey & hand towel: After washing open wound, important to keep wound moist-not crusty/scabbed and keep it covered to reduce secondary infection. Regular table honey has been used for millenia as a wound dressing. Apply it liberally and cover are with hand towel or paper towel. If there is a lot of drainage use feminie pad or baby diaper. If these product aren't available any clean dry cloth will protect wound.
