No and it depends: The dressins and the vac need to be changed as needed. If you have a lot of drainage it must be changed more frequently. Most of my patients with a vac can go several days without changing. However there have been some that need more frequent changes.

Wound vacs: Wounds that have a wound vacuum device on them for healing need to be followed using the manufacturers guidelines. As the number of wound vacuum devices increase on the market place, the answer to your question may differ. For the most commonly used devices, changing them at least three times per week is suggested.

Depend on the draina: The wound vac dressing is usually changed in accordance to the amount of drainage and type of wound being treated. The wound care nurse who supplied you with the device would be the best person to evaluate how often to change the dressing.
