Best way to go: The gauze is stuck because some of the blood and fluid from the cut edge dried and has stuck. Soaking the gauze really well will help a bit but for better or worse, you will have to get it off. Best trick it to then gently apply traction on the gauze and then using a finger, push the skin away from the gauze. Do not pull the gauze away. There will be a second of pain and a little blood.
