First See a Dentist: Holes are either from decay or trauma. Decay is a process where food particles become trapped in the deep grooves of the biting surface of your teeth or between the teeth. If this food is not removed by brushing & flossing, oral bacteria "eat" the food, digest it and give off acid which "eats away" your tooth causing the hole. Frequent visit to dds and excellent oral hygiene are important.
