Nightly, at least: For the average person, wearing contacts greater than 12 hours per day can lead to symptoms of contact lens overwear which can include decreased vision, light-sensitivity, eye redness, pain and possibly tearing. But everyone is different; some people can't tolerate more than 4-5 hours/day, others can tolerate 14-16. But everyone should take their contacts out before they go to sleep.

Depends: Should take them out every night and clean them properly for extended wear ctl, should remove at least once a week but duration depends on eye dryness and how long the eye can tolerate them.
