It varies..: Factors to consider: how well do you maintain your teeth / gums? How many dental restorations you have? Do you have periodontal (gum) disease? Do you have a family history (genetic predisposition) to certain dental conditions? Do you have any medical problems that could affect your teeth. I have patients come in as often as every 4 weeks , 6 weeks, 3 months, 4 months & 6 months so it's variable.

Usually 6 months: It will vary depending on the health of your teeth and gums, but most people need to go every 6 months. If you have periodontal disease, you may need to go more often.

Start 6 months: The frequency of dental cleanings needs to be determined for you by your dentist. You have to be able to trust the decision they make to guide you. Some people have pressing treatment needs that need to be addressed more frequently than every six months. This is a good question, ask you dentist. Don't forget to floss! and always wait for an hour or so after eating before brushing. This is new!
