It may: When you bite on one side it means that your joints are not lined up, the muscles are stressed out to keep the uneven position and the bone inside the joints are constantly trying to adapt. The short answer is yes you can damage the supporting tissues in your joints, and you can damage your teeth as well and cause unnecessary wear to the teeth and to the periodontal support..

Yes: Biting on one side changes aspects of both joints and can worsen the situation. If you haven't already done so, you should get your problem diagnosed and then the appropriate care can be rendered. Don't just take it upon yourself to chew on one side. You might aggravate the problem.

Likely yes: By chewing only on one side you overcompensate and this can create adverse symptoms.

Depends: When you bite in one side only, for example right side, you will alleviate the pressure inside the right TMJ and increase the pressure on the left tmj. Depending on the side you have the pain, and also if it is a real TMJ inflammation or a referred pain from a muscle (myofascial pain), your pain can either be alleviated or increased.

Possible: Everyone has a favorite biting side, but it could effect tmj.

Possibly: Possibly. Even distribution of biting forces is better. See your dentist to help with your bite.

Definitely, yes: If you , chew habitually or intentionally only on one side of your mouth you concentrate all the pressure on one side rather than equally on both.
