Two extra ones: Some people develop extra teeth called supernumerary teeth. In addition to the four wisdom teeth that develop, your body has produced two extra ones. Your dentist can discuss with you when, why and if these teeth need to be removed.

Some individuals may have an extra tooth or teeth anywhere in the upper or lower jaws, often referred to as a supernumerary tooth. If the tooth is adjacent to a wisdom tooth, some people refer to the extra tooth as an extra wisdom tooth.
