Is leukemia curable?

Depends: If acute, potentially yes. If chronic, probably not. In acute leukemia, the cells are rapidly dividing and respond rapidly. In chronic leukemia, typically the cells are dividing slowly and do not respond as rapidly, hence, usually not curable. Hope this helps.

Yes. Survival among: Leukemia patients is influenced by many things, including phenotype, molecular features, presenting white count, patient age, etc. We are making strides every day, with survival improvements across the board. But a leukemia diagnosis does not mean you should give up hope for a long and meaningful survival. For some patients/leukemias survival is near 95%. Be hopeful as you move forward.
