Non bulging: Spider veins can be red, purple, green in color, not raised or bulging like varicose veins. Sclerotherapy is the gold standard for leg veins, then superficial laser for the tiny red veins on the face and the red ones remaining after sclerotherapy. The new medicines like Asclera and sts don't hurt with the injection sclerotherapy . Need compression stockings after leg sclerotherapy.

Red, Purple or Blue : Spider veins are the small, thread-like colored veins that are most often seen on the surface of the skin. Spider veins, also known as telangiectasias, are found most commonly on the thighs or lower legs of women. They are hereditary, frequently occur in the legs and appear as dark or lighter shades of blue, purple or red.

Thread-like veins: As dr. Schwartz said, "spider veins are the small, thread-like colored veins that are most often seen on the surface of the skin." in fact in some countries, they are called thread veins. They are often only 0.1-0.2 mm in diameter and, depending on where they sit on or in the skin, they might be bright red, maroon, purple, or blue.
