Get her checked: It may recur if there is an underlying issue such as reflux also called gerd (gastro-esaphageal reflux). Gerd could cause stomach fluid to be inhaled into the lungs and thereby cause a bronchitis or even pneumonia. If gerd is not present then a respiratory issue such as asthma or reactive airways disease is possible. There are rare situations where recurrent lung issues may occur.
