Infection: Any thing is possible. However if one is shot in the abdomen. And the bullet went in deep. Serious infection can lead to death. Same is possible with chest wound. Who got shot and was the police called ?

It depends......: Energy transfered to the body from a projectile (bullet) depends on the mass (weight) and velocity (speed). Low-caliber (bb/pellet) guns can penetrate the body but in general the patient should survive. In contrast, higher caliber projectiles can cause direct damage to tissue and indirect damage due to the cavitation (pressure wave). These can be fatal no matter where you are struck. Safety!
