Honey: Believe it or not, 1 tsp of honey every 4 hours is an evidence-based treatment for cough in children less that 2. Of course albuterol is typically beneficial too. So, if it is a minor cough, especially at night, cool humidified air in the bedroom and 1 tsp of honey should help. If you are worried about your child's breathing status, please seek medical care coon.

No meds: Cough medication is no longer recommended due to safety issues for your children due to age. Trick is figure out why cough? Try tbsp honey followed by sips warm water but see an MD to help find cause. May be reactive airway disease and may need breathing trearments
