Palpitations: Palpitations would suggest a heart condition. A heart specialist would be the right physician to evaluate palpitations. The quick relief medication albuterol can lead to increased heart rate and possibly palpitations. For some people switching to lev-albuterol (xopenex) may help. Controller medications like inhaled steroids do not lead to palpitations.
