Asthma action plan: Ask your doctor for an asthma action plan. If your child has persistent asthma and needs to be on a daily preventative medicine, your doctor should recommend a treatment plan should his or her asthma begin to act up. Some children may benefit from "peak flow" tests at home to know when they need more treatment for their asthma. Best to discuss all of this with your doctor.
