Ambien (zolpidem): It is made to work within 15mn and not work after 2-3hours, but once launched into sleep, the sleep can go on all night. But if you wake up after a few hours, need to stop it immediately as it is not made for your actual condition. Need to treat the cause of insomnia, which is the most frequent symptom of most mental problem. Not treat just the symptom while disease worsens unavoidably. Rx early.

Ambien (zolpidem): Advise talking to your prescribing doctor about exploring the cause of your insomnia & treating that, also exploring other alternative medications while finding the cause.
