Yes: You can get the flu shot while breastfeeding. As a pediatrician, i strongly encourage everyone associated with the baby to get an influenza vaccine, this is the best way to protect your infant. If friends and family are vaccinated it creates an environment less likely to have members who may become sick and expose the baby. Don't forget to have everyone get the tdap vaccine, too.
