Depends: It depends a lot on the degree of "renal failure" you have. In the most dramatic sense, complete renal failure requires regular dialysis to remove the toxins from the bloodstream that the kidneys normally remove. Other mild cases in which the kidneys are functioning but not at optimal level may need to be followed closely and moniter their medications and fluid intake.
