Clip it: Clip it to the point where it is tender. Then leave it alone. Your nail will slowly regrow. Just want to avoid it getting caught on your socks and sheets and being pulled off as this will hurt. If is too painful and swollen. You need to see a podiatrist so that the nail can be removed. Good news is that you should get a normal nail returning if the damage to your nail root is minimal.
