Gum swelling: Try gargling with 3% hydrogen peroxide and warm water .Avoid alcohol and hot and spicy food for now also easy on smoking if you are a smoker.And i recommend seeing a periodontist asap.Neglecting simple gum problem could lead to serious periodontal disease.

Visit your dentist: While there could be exotic causes for the condition you describe, the most likely is an abscess. It could be caused by an infected tooth. The infection seeks the path of least resistance, ultimately causing swelling and then drainage of pus. A severe gum infection can present in the same way. In either case, only dentist can judge and treat properly. Tooth might need a root canal.

See a dentist: If it is localize i agree it may be a dental abscess, however i interpret you to have generalized gum swelling leading me to believe you have a periodontal problem. Either way, you need to get professional help asap. Warm salt water rinses and good oral hygiene in the interim. Only a very soft toothbrush and massage the gums also.
