A periodontist: True periodontal disease in a kid is serious but fortunately rare. It can lead rapid bone loss and loss of teeth, far earlier than we expect. The kid should be in the hands of the best periodontist you can find. It is a difficult disease to deal with.

Be aggressive: If you mean a kid 18 yrs or younger, they may have a juvenile form of periodontitis which affects only certain teeth and needs to be treated aggressively with possible surgical care and antibiotic therapy. Please see your dentist.
