Internal Clock: Your body does possess it's own internal clock(or circadian rhythm if you will) so that would explain it.

Internal clock: Our bodies are truly amazing. Many people have the same capability. Some do this when they have had enough sleep. Others just wake up at the same time even when they haven't had an adequate amount of sleep. Some people have the same problem when they travel to other time zones and can find that they just can't stay asleep even when they want to.
