Cough: There are many causes of cough. 3 causes i very commonly encounter are asthma, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and post nasal drip. We also see patients with COPD cough a lot. Patients with certain types of cardiac disease can cough as well. Sometimes, people cough so long that they do not realize that they are doing it. We call that habitual cough and it is very difficult to treat.
