? hernia, spinal ner: Caughing, sneezing, and laughing are called valsalva maneuvers. This involves pressure building up in the lower abdomen and pelvic region. Sometimes, this pressure can stimulate an impinged nerve in the spine. Sacral spinal nerves supply the penis, and impingment of these nerves could be aggravated by the valsalva maneuver. Also a hernia that is progressing into the scrotum could be present
