Balanitis: Most pediatric balanitis occurs in uncircumcised males. Oral antibiotics have never been my preference for this condition in children. If he is a swimmer, there is a reasonable likelihood that the imflammation of the glans is fungal. I would recommend alternating anti fungal cream with antibacterial cream for 7-10 days. Your pharmacist should be able to assist you. Swimming should be fine.
