How does blood pressure medicine actually, physically lower bp? what is the mechanism, etc.? thank you.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dirrerent mechanisms: Some reduce circulating plasma volume. Some directly dilate arteries peripherally. Some dilate the arteries indirectly by central (brain) mechanisms. Some block receptors in the kidneys, others block an enzyme in the kidneys. Some block hormones produced by the adrenal glands.
