A member asked:

My best friend has been diagnosed with colon cancer and a secondary on her liver. what now?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Chemotherapy: The presence of cancer outside of the colon usually changes our focus from local treatment (colon surgery) to systemic due to the high probability of cancer cells being elsewhere. Occassionally, an isolated tumor in the liver may be treated surgically at the same time as the colon surgery (or soon after).
