Start with PT: For tendinitis, anti-inflammatory medicines will help with the pain. But the real treatment is to stretch and strengthen the tendon. This is best done with formal physical therapy. Also, sometimes hip muscle weakness can contribute to knee tendinitis. Activity like running is generally ok as long as the pain is minimal. Start slow and build slowly.
