It could be a: Recurrence of the tendinitis, or a strain of one of quadriceps muscles. Use r.I.C.E-rest, ice, compression w ace wrap, and elevating the leg. Ibuprofen can be used in the short term if not contraindicated. After the pain has resolved (1-2 wks), you need to strengthen your quads & hamstring muscles to protect your knee & leg from re injury. Do the same exercises on both legs. Talk to your doc or pt.
