My 3 year old has type 1 diabetes what's the chances my 8 month old daughter will get it? it's not in the family at all

Less than 10%: As a male with type 1 diabetes, your offspring each have an approximate lifetime risk of type 1 diabetes which is 7%. Interestingly, and for unknown reasons, kids of female type 1 diabetics carry only a 2% lifetime risk.

6-8%: The general risk in the population is 3-5%. If you have a first degree relative with type 1 diabetes then your risk is only slightly higher at 6-8%.
