A member asked:

Can throwing up clam gastritis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

YES: Vomiting is caused by stomach inflammation, gastritis and gastritis causes vomiting. Any vomiting could cause a tear in the esophagus . If you always vomit when you eat clams, then you should avoid them. If this was a one time occasion, perhaps the clams were spoiled or you contracted a virus. Your stomach could be irritated from taking ibuprofen, alleve, aspirin, +/- alchohol.
