Yes: Gynecomastia has two components: fat and gland. Fortunately for males it is mostly fat and therfore responds to liposuction. For those with thickened gland excison is the most effective.

May be.: Most patients who present with true gynecomastia benefit from partial excision of the breast gland tissue along with liposuction of the chest wall. However, some patients present with enlarged breasts secondary to adipose tissue ( lipomastia); these patients benefit from liposuction surgery only. Best to do surgery when patients have achieved a long-term stable weight.
