Damaged immunity: Hiv infection kills a class of WBC called a t 4 lymphocyte. This particular cell is very important in regulating a large number of immune responses making it possible to fight many kinds of infections. When this cell is killed off, we become vulnerable to infections with bacteria, fungi, viruses etc.. That do not ordinarily cause disease in a normal individual.
