Maybe: "mood swings" come in many types, and for many reasons. It could be depression, it could be a medical issue, it could even be a side effect of a medicine (or recreational drug) you're already taking. If you or loved ones are concerned, it's best to have an in-person evaluation by a mental health professional (psychiatrist, psychologist, clinical social worker, etc). Good luck.
