Teething myth: A myth. Many times teething causes babies noses to run. Since babies cannot blow their noses the mucous may travel down to the middle ears and cause an ear infection which in turn causes a fever.

Teething myth: It's honestly a myth. It is usually just a coincident that a baby has a fever at the same time they are teething.

Fever with teething: Some children do get a low grade fever, diarrhea and drooling. The connecction isn't known but the symptoms are strongly correlated. You can treat them simultaneously. Ibuprofen is more effective for teething than tylenol (acetaminophen). Both will help the fever. Keep the fluids coming. If you prefer tylenol (acetaminophen), it is important you do not give your baby more than four doses of Acetaminophen per 24 hours.
