Culture?: A urine culture should be performed if it hasn't. This can identify a bacterial infection if that is the cause of the leukocytes in the urine. It is possible to have a UTI and have negative nitrites. Leukocytes in the urine can also be caused by inflammation anywhere in urinary tract up to kidneys.
