Successful manage-: Ment of constipation requires an initial " clean-out" before MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) will work. See your primary care, or maybe a gastroenterologist. Often what's done is a plain x-ray of the abdomen & a weekend of taking go-litely, followed by at least 6 months of treatment with MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) to achieve soft stools at least every other day. Long-term constipation can lead to diverticulosis & other medical problems.
